Thiru K. Kamaraj the mighty name in the field of education and the one who brought it to the door - steps of the rural kids, beautifies our school name. The need for the English language prompted the local people of this area impelled us to start a good, well disciplined and well managed school. With their kind hearted co-operation and excellent encouragement, the sponsors with great far sight founded " Kamaraj Nursery School" with the lofty ideals of imparting the best education to all children, keeping in view of the three language formula.

The School from kindergarten to Std V with 250 Students on roll 12 staff was auspiciously inaugurated on 21st June, 1982 by the gold touch of Amarar Thiru C. CHIDAMBARA NADAR, president of the NUS Kovilpatti, at Chekkadi Street, Kovilpatti. Thiru N.SRINIVASAN B.E., took over as the first Correspondent. Later, due to want of accomodation, in Feb.1984 it was shifted to Govt. Offices Street in a rented building. First recognition for opening a New Matriculation School in the name of Kamaraj Matriculation School was granted in 1986.

The new building, housing high school and higher secondary classes was inaugurated in Feb 1990. The School enjoys an ennoble serene atmosphere in idyllic surrounding away from the din and bustle of the matchless city of matches.

The School was upgraded into a Higher secondary School in the year 1991-92. In the year 1994, primary classes were started in the new building. The growth has been phenomenal under the dynamic management constituted by Mr.A.S.V.C.M.SenthilkaniRajaa as a secretary from the academic year 2015 - 16. The strength of the pupils and that of the teaching staff have been shooting up year by year.
